New Predators on Parade at the Million Moon March

Captain of a Crew of One notes some new parade entrants...

Dan Zwonitzer Has a Big "But"

Rep. Dan Zwonitzer, R-Cheyenne, said he owns guns and enjoys shooting. However, he said Wyoming is among the top states in the country in terms of gun-related deaths by population and said the state doesn't need legislation to encourage more people to carry guns.

Zwonitzer quoted the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which states in part that a "well-regulated militia" is necessary to the security of a free state. He said he wouldn't have a problem with the bill if it specified that members of the Wyoming National Guard have a right to carry weapons.

Zwonitzer was rated "?" by NRA in the 2004 election cycle:
Failed to answer NRA-PVF candidate questionnaire, often an indication of indifference, if not outright hostility, to gun owners’ and sportsmen’s rights.

Ignorant and arrogant. How typical of those who seek power over others. You folks in Wyoming can get a LOT better servant than this upstart, who seems to think it's his place to tell you what to do...

Shooter Had Homemade Gun

Police have charged a 41-year-old man with firearms possession after he allegedly fired a homemade gun in a block of flats in South Yarra last night.
Time for another law. We must do something about the home armory loophole!

A Gun Room at Work?

The National Rifle Association, sensing trouble on its proposed bill in the state Legislature that would require employers to allow workers to have guns in their cars in company parking lots, offered some unusual compromises Wednesday:

* Creating gun rooms at work and having workers check their weapons when they arrive.

* Separate parking lots for gun owners.

* Making it OK to carry in the car, as long as you tell your boss.
Lock up you safety facilities, separate but equal facilities, and permission.

Yep. Sounds like "shall not be infringed" to me.

Some Good News

Last week I brought you the story of Mark Edward Marchiafava, whose unlawful arrest by Gonzales, La. police and subsequent confiscation of his property raised the ire of Liberty Zone readers. This morning, I'm gratified to tell you that Mark took a trip to Gonzales yesterday and retrieved both his weapon and his bail money.

Good work, Nicki.
