On the Horns of a Dilemma

D.C. police were told Sunday not to arrest people for carrying handguns on the street in the wake of a judge’s ruling that overturned the city’s principal gun-control law. [More]
I intend to be very careful about this, not read too much into things yet, and urge caution from all. The exuberant but undisciplined, infiltrators and provocateurs could do some very simple things the media could then amplify to horrify those who know no better-- and there are a lot of those.

UPDATE: I called the Metro PD  media contact person to try to get a copy of Chief Lanier's order, and have not heard back.  Dave Workman beat everyone to the punch on that, and quotes it along with bringing us developing information in his column today.

As it has been said elsewhere....

Too many OTHER laws that they can get you on.

How do they determine if you are allowed to carry where you are from without detaining you and checking you out? How long will it take? And do they have to go to the station to do it?
